Eric Wallis

Original Oils

Eric Wallis lights the canvas with color and texture.  His canvases come to life with the master’s touch of both paintbrush and palette knife.  He washes each of his celebrated Western landscapes in clear, sparkling air.  Each of his human figures glows in the candlelight of a private oasis.  He calms and captures viewers into responding with both their hearts and minds.

As a young child, Eric attended drawing and painting classes taught by his father, Kent, a well known artist and teacher.  Eric was encouraged to work in his father’s studio, where he completed his first paintings at the age of seven.  Throughout Eric’s childhood and adolescence, father and son spent endless summers painting the great outdoors.  Growing into adulthood, Eric further pursued his passion for creating art and attended Utah State University.  He graduated cum laude in 1992, earning a B.F.A. in painting.

Eric’s adult career has been impressive.  He has had at least one solo exhibit almost every year since 1992 in galleries spread across Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California and Washington.  In 1998, he won an award of merit in the Desert News Landscape Art competition in Salt Lake City.  From the outset, his work has continued to enter distinguished private and corporate collections.
